Coding for Girls

So what is Coding and how is GS involved?

Girls should be age 13+ to begin using the Made with Code site, but girls do not have to wait to begin learning.  Coding can be practiced offline during meetings.  As the leader, if you aren't familiar with coding, you might want to review the basics before teaching.  There are plenty of tutorials available online.  It is rather easy to learn and opens up a whole new world of confidence in the girls.

Our troop uses Roblox Studio.  With it girls can work offline learning to code and making games they can play.  They get to see what they have created right after completion and test it first hand.  Coding is fun and exciting, and helps bring Science and Engineering skills to the forefront for girls!
